Overview

This role manages and supervises all day‑to‑day MEP construction activities on mission‑critical data center projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule compliance, and effective coordination of subcontractors and field personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, manage, and document all day‑to‑day MEP Cx job site activities, including OSHA safety compliance.
  • Direct field personnel according to the project plan and company supervisory principles.
  • Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
  • Report any problems promptly to facilitate cost‑effective solutions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with clients and company team members.
  • Request advice and assistance from the General Superintendent on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel.
  • Project Start‑Up/Turnover Meeting:
    • Identify pre‑mobilization activities in conjunction with the Project Executive, General Superintendent, and the Project Manager.
    • Develop start‑up schedule with the Project Manager and send to the Project Executive and General Superintendent for review.
  • Scheduling:
    • Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.
    • Establish and implement the Project Baseline Schedule based on contracts and subcontractor input.
    • Maintain the schedule to meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Update Project Schedule monthly and provide a two‑week look‑ahead progress report.
  • Safety:
    • Ensure all subcontractors attend a pre‑construction safety meeting and possess required safety documentation.
    • Review daily activities against OSHA and project safety plans.
    • Assess safety performance using reports and injury data.
    • Communicate clear safety expectations to project teams.
    • Perform safety inspections and adhere to safety program requirements.
  • Quality Management:
    • Insert benchmarks into the baseline schedule and ensure timely inspections.
    • Ensure appropriate individuals are members of the Quality Team.
    • Approve and document inspections and communicate results.
  • Subcontractor and Site Management:
    • Manage pre‑construction survey, job site utilization, and staging plans.
    • Mobilize the field office and maintain the job site per company standards.
    • Organize documentation for easy access and review.
    • Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards.
    • Work with the Project Manager to resolve personnel and process issues.
    • Document and report site activities and progress throughout construction.
  • Meeting Management:
    • Attend and chair project turnover, mobilization, safety, schedule review, owner, subcontractor, and other necessary meetings.
  • Administrative Management:
    • Implement construction office checklists, maintain logs and shop drawings.
    • Manage quality of material deliveries and ensure safety reporting compliance.
    • Maintain as‑built drawings and revision logs.
  • Project Closeout:
    • Manage subcontractor closeout, utilities transfer, owner training, work list and punch list.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline and/or experience relative to project size/scope.
  • 4+ years of experience in related construction fields.
  • Ability to manage and embrace change, respond to new processes.
  • Applicable area licenses.
  • Excellent team development skills and leadership abilities.
  • Strong partnership with the Project Manager and staff.
