General Superintendent – Structural Steel Erection (High Travel)

We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to take full field leadership responsibility for the structural steel scope on a single, large-scale, complex project. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role overseeing all aspects of steel erection from mobilization through completion.

This is a high-travel position
, requiring extended time on-site for the duration of the project.

• Lead all structural steel erection activities on a major, complex project
• Oversee all field crews, foremen, and subcontractors involved in steel erection
• Manage daily field operations, sequencing, and manpower planning
• Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of all structural steel
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, fabricators, and general contractor
• Maintain schedule adherence and drive field productivity
• Resolve field issues quickly and effectively to avoid delays
• Enforce strict safety standards and ensure full compliance on site
• Serve as the primary field authority for all structural steel scope decisions

• Extensive experience in structural steel erection required
• Proven background leading large, complex, high-tonnage steel projects
• Strong understanding of erection sequencing, rigging, and field logistics
• Prior experience as a Superintendent or General Superintendent preferred
• Ability to lead large crews on major commercial or industrial projects
• Willingness to travel extensively and remain on-site for extended durations
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
