Our Project Engineer Career Development (PECD) program is a cornerstone of our growth and development philosophy. With an emphasis on in-field learning and development, Project Engineers will master critical construction skills, including:
- Scheduling and production rate tracking
- Estimating and budget preparation & project cost control
- Safety management
- Quality control
- Business development and client relations
- Field resource management
The goal of the PECD program is to develop people into company leaders. The program is structured with a competency-based approach and an emphasis on individual mentorship. Project Engineers build experience across multiple competencies before being promoted into the career path they desire – project management, estimating, construction management and more.
Vector's Cedar Rapids team focuses primarily on intricate cathodic protection work with a focus on the long-term protection of concrete.
This role will require heavy travel – upwards of 70% of the year to job sites across the East and South of the United States.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required. Preference for Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study. Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher. Minimum of one relevant internship experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional documentation and organizational skills. Aptitude for solving problems. Reliable transportation from the office to job sites.
