Civil Construction Project Manager

An established and growing heavy civil construction organization is seeking a Civil Construction Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects from preconstruction through final completion. Focus

  • Direct all phases of heavy civil construction projects from project turnover through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
  • Monitor project financial performance through forecasting, cost controls, billing, change management, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain successful project execution.
  • Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and project documentation to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule and profitability.
  • Lead project meetings while maintaining consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support field operations by ensuring effective coordination of labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
  • Deliver projects that consistently meet client expectations for quality, schedule, and financial performance.

Skill Set

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within heavy civil construction, infrastructure, utilities, concrete, earthwork, water and wastewater, or closely related construction markets.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, scheduling, construction contracts, project controls, and construction sequencing.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple construction projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with construction management platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and project planning tools.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with proven success leading teams, resolving challenges, and fostering productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

  • Municipal water infrastructure and environmental utility projects.
  • Underground utility infrastructure.
  • Large-scale infrastructure construction projects.
  • Cast-in-place and reinforced concrete construction.
  • Municipal pumping and utility infrastructure facilities.
  • Earthwork and site development.
  • Flood control or hydraulic infrastructure.
  • Specialized foundation and ground support systems.
