Structural Designer – BSI
A key member of our Civil/Structural team, the Structural Designer brings strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design in industrial settings. The focus is on ensuring design packages follow client and industry standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality designs.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM workflow and standards in Revit within the department and in coordination with external stakeholders.
- Support project start‑up workflow, helping teams develop strategies for effective delivery of quality documents and ensuring each is set up correctly.
- Oversee BIM/Revit usage within the department, analyze and resolve user issues.
- Provide end‑user training, support, and leadership within the department.
- Create content libraries, template files, and conduct intermittent model audits to ensure proper families and standards are utilized.
- Manage the implementation of supporting software and plug‑ins for BIM.
- Research and stay updated on best practices for Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM; evaluate new BIM‑related software and technologies.
- Use Dynamo and Python for automation.
- Develop and enforce BIM documentation and workflow process standards.
- Train and oversee day‑to‑day activities of BIM users to maintain standards in model creation.
- Ensure quality and technical accuracy of project deliverables.
- Perform or oversee applicable calculations and design efforts to prepare drawing deliverables under supervision.
- Ensure discipline’s design is accurate and coordinated within 2D drawings, 3D models, and/or site scans.
- Associate Civil/Structural Engineering Technology Degree and/or Computer Drafting and Design Degree preferred;
High School Diploma required. - Proficient experience with Revit and Navisworks.
- Experience generating and maintaining BIM project drawings and models.
- Strong communication and decision‑making skills.
- 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
