LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and implement ideas contained in technical documents, assessment data, professional journals and regulations. Ability to effectively write reports and communications to students, colleagues, parents and staff. Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, staff and students. Ability to assist students in the areas of language and literacy.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals and fractions. Ability to assist students in implementing these mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
REQUIRED DISPOSITIONS:
- Believes that all children can attain high levels of learning.
- Takes responsibility for the SUMMARY.
- Work closely with the Lead Teacher at a site to provide enrichment opportunities like field trips and themed experiences within the KCU day.
- The Enrichment Leader will teach five enrichment classes each day for a class of up to 35 students.
- The Enrichment Leader must engage students in physical activity for the majority of enrichment classes, like a traditional physical education class.
- The Enrichment Leader is critical in providing the active and fun part of Kids on Course University.
- Building positive relationships with students is an important aspect of this position. Someone who is creative and loves to engage kids and tap into their creative side will thrive in this role.
Eligibility for summer programming employment is limited to staff who are currently employed by the district and confirmed to return for the upcoming academic year.
ENDORSEMENTS- Physical Education, preferred
- K-5 General Education Teacher, preferred
- Bachelor's degree In Education
- PE endorsement preferred.
Iowa Teaching Certification with an endorsement in the content area required, as appropriate.
COMPENSATIONcertified - $30 / non-certified - $15.

June 15 – July 31 (no classes on June 19, July 3 and July
6) - Mandatory Training:
June 11-12 (8-12) - Student hours will be 8:00 – 12:00
- Enrichment Leader hours tentatively 7:45 AM – 12:15 PM, Monday–Friday
- Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties or tasks may be assigned.
- Work closely with the Lead Teacher at a site to provide enrichment opportunities like field trips and themed experiences within the KCU day.
- Working as an elementary school employee working with students; PE teacher preferred.
- Teach enrichment classes each day for a class up to 30 students.
- Engage students in physical activity for the majority of enrichment classes, like a traditional physical education class.
- Provide active and fun activities (physical movement, arts/crafts, music, etc.) throughout Kids on Course University.
- Build positive relationships with students.
- Assure behavior of students is managed.
- Team with school staff to provide strategies that support and meet students needs.
- Provide active communication and positive relationships with parents and community members.
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and manage details in a thorough manner.
- Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data.
- Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
