- Work with students individually or in group settings under the direction of professional staff.
- Assist with supervision of students in the classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc.
- Implement behavior management strategies.
- May include riding the bus with students.
- May include working one‑to‑one with students to complete assigned tasks.
- Student supervision required; ensure student safety.
- Assist students with necessary health assistance under guidance of nurses.
- Assist in preparation of materials used in the educational process.
- Assist students at mealtime and in personal hygiene areas.
- Help get students to and from bus or car.
- Other duties as may be assigned and may vary based on building and district needs.
Teacher Associate – Seven hours per day – $17.10/hr

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, talk and hear. Must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and forward 0‑24 inches and on occasion up to 36 inches. Continuous hand strength to grasp items. Frequently bend or twist neck and trunk. Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds for 0‑12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet.
May push/pull tables and carts. Vision: close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus while supervising students, using computers, written materials, reports, and assessment data.
Noise levels are usually quiet. Position requires professional working hours that may extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. Employee will work in various classroom areas, indoors and outdoors. Work may involve indoor temperatures and outdoors when supervising students.
