Summary
Provides classroom instruction for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses with a focus on project‑based learning and authentic application. Ensures all students achieve the course‑level objectives set by the National PLTW Curriculum. Also provides instruction for Industrial Technology, with a focus on PLTW engineering for the upcoming school year.
Endorsements- Completion of or ability to complete PLTW summer training
- Industrial Technology 5‑12 preferred
Develops and implements Project Lead the Way Engineering programming for high school students.
Develops and implements Industrial Technology classes for high school students.
Supports and implements the district curriculum, standards, and benchmarks.
Assists high school staff with strategies to support students’ needs and achievement of academic goals.
Provides active communication and positive relationships with parents and community members.
Assists in planning and delivering social, emotional, and behavioral school‑wide programming.
Collaborates with the principal, school counselor, staff, parents, and students on matters pertaining to student achievement.
Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data.
Meets the 8 Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria consistently.
Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience- Industrial Technology 5‑12
- Experience teaching in 9th–12th grade preferred
- Project Lead the Way training in Principles of Engineering and willingness to take summer PLTW training
- CTE Authorization or RAPIL Licensure
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and implement ideas in technical documents, assessment data, professional journals, and regulations; to write reports and communicate with students, colleagues, parents, and staff; to present information orally and respond to questions; and to assist students in language and literacy.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, fractions) and to assist students in implementing these concepts.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve problems effectively and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical DemandsRegular standing, walking, hand use, talking, hearing, bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, occasional pushing/pulling of items, and visual tasks required for supervising students and using computers.
Work EnvironmentThe workplace is generally quiet, though the position requires professional working hours that may extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. schedule.
