Reports to: Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction & Curriculum Leads and Executive Director of Student Services (School Counselor)
Position Summary: Content Leads provide district-level leadership and support for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. They collaborate to support implementation and alignment of district curriculum and assessments, determining focus areas by district and building needs. They provide leadership in designing and delivering professional learning to content and level colleagues, serving as a communication point‑person between district curriculum support and content colleagues.

Compensation:
- Aligns with Teacher Master Contract
- 5 additional days determined by the district; $1,700 stipend
Key Responsibilities , Dispositions and
Skills:
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in content areas
- Ability to design, present, and facilitate adult learning experiences
- Reflective, growth-oriented, seeks and acts upon feedback, and willingness to be coached
- Adaptable mindset and skill set to respond to changing needs as indicated by system data
- Provide leadership in curriculum adoption (as needed)
- Deepen and maintain equity knowledge to identify and address inequitable practices and engage teachers with an equity lens
- Knowledge of Professional Learning Community process and protocol
- Knowledge of recent research and current trends related to content and pedagogy
- Collaborative work with Curriculum Coordinators, Program Leads, District Coaches and Administrators to support district goals
Qualifications:
- Standard Teaching License with three years of teaching experience in a content area, including at least one year in the Cedar Rapids Community School District (preferred)
- Experience designing and conducting professional learning for adults (preferred)
Working Conditions:
- Occasional summer, evening, and weekend work for professional development and meetings
Physical Demands:
The employee must frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. The employee must squat, stoop, kneel, reach above head, and lift or move up to 50 pounds up to 12 feet, and occasionally up to 20 feet. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, and assessment data.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically quiet. The position requires professional working hours that may extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will work in various classroom areas, indoor and outdoor, while supervising students.
