Coe College invites applications for a full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry, beginning January 2027. We seek a teacher-scholar who is passionate about undergraduate education and high-impact teaching practices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Chemistry (thermodynamics, kinetics, and/or quantum chemistry) along with the associated laboratory
• Teach General Chemistry with laboratory or an additional course or laboratory aligned with the candidate's area of expertise/interest
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and departmental service
• Hold regular office hours and be responsive to student email questions

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a closely related field (ABD considered with evidence of timely completion)
• Demonstrated excellence-or clear potential-for effective, student-centered undergraduate teaching
• Ability to teach physical chemistry and general chemistry with associated laboratories
