Job Title: Permanent Building Substitute Teacher
Reports To: Building Principal or Designee
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Start Date: TBD – 2026‑2027 School Year
Key Responsibilities- Deliver instruction and maintain classroom routines in accordance with teacher‑provided lesson plans.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a respectful, safe learning environment.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school‑related events.
- Follow all school and district policies, including safety and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with staff to support student learning and building‑wide initiatives.
- Fill in for various grade levels and content areas with minimal advance notice.
- Must be an approved substitute teacher registered through the Sub Central assignment system ea.org.
- Must hold a valid substitute authorization or teaching license through the State of Iowa to register with Sub Central.
- Work Days: Monday–Friday
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour
- Benefits: Eligible for district health insurance, including a district contribution of $259/month.
- Note: One‑year non‑renewal position; candidates must reapply each year.
- Work Calendar: 170 days

Reasonable accommodations may be made. The noise level is moderately quiet. The position requires a professional working schedule that may extend beyond typical 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. work hours. Work occurs in various areas of the classroom and building, indoors and outdoors, and may involve standing, kneeling, crouching, and moving while supervising students.
