Job Description

Position Title:

Success Center Student Support Associate

Immediate Supervisor:
Associate Director of Student Services

Job Summary /Goal

To assist classroom teacher in helping students to increase their academic, social and employability skills as well as community skills. Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment and reduce disruptions and off‑task behavior in school and community facilities. Under the guidance of the teacher, assist in facilitating all goals and objectives contained in students' IEP, including functional academic programming and small group or one‑on‑one support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in personal hygiene programming.
  • Protect the student's health and safety through the administration of CPR, first aid, and medication management.
  • Supervise and assist students with environmental mobility, adapted physical education, special events, field trips, assemblies, tours, and concerts.
  • Assist with all student needs during the day, including movement between classes, physical therapy, recess, restrooms, personal hygiene, and occupational therapy.
  • Address expected and unexpected behaviors through implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Support the use of augmented communication systems.
  • Carry out teacher‑directed activities: prepare specialized teaching aids and materials; implement consultants’ recommendations; develop rapport with students; record behavioral and health data; collaborate with teachers on student needs and performance; perform clerical and supervision duties.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students preferred but not required.
