GeneralJob Summary
Kirkwood Community College's Math Science Department seeks a skilled enthusiastic individual to join our faculty to teach Microbiology at the Cedar Rapids campus. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge base in their discipline and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Primary duties will include teaching assigned classes and communicating with Department staff, students and faculty. In-person classes are scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 am to 4 pm.
Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

- Utilize Kirkwood's Learning Management System to post a syllabus, course content, and gradebook.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.
- Regularly engage in professional development activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas.
- Effectively instruct and communicate material for the course.
- Abide by and enforce safety rules when in a lab setting.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and the general public.
