Permanent Building Substitute Teacher

Key Responsibilities
:
- Deliver instruction and maintain classroom routines in accordance with teacher-provided lesson plans.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a respectful and safe learning environment.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school-related events.
- Follow all school and district policies
, including safety and emergency procedures. - Collaborate with staff to support student learning and building-wide initiatives.
- Fill in for various grade levels and content areas with minimal advance notice.
Qualifications
:
- Must be an approved substitute teacher registered through the Sub Central assignment system at sub central.gwaea.org
. - Must hold a valid substitute authorization or teaching license through the State of Iowa to register with Sub Central.

: $25.00 per hour. - Benefits
:
Eligible for district health insurance, with a district contribution of $259 per month. - This is a one-year non-renewal position; candidates must reapply each year.
- 170-day work calendar.

The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. workday.
The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom and building, including at desks, on or near the floor, standing, and in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when required by instructional activities and when supervising students outside of the classroom.
