Essential Duties
- Leads the school learning organization by creating a climate and culture conducive to continuous improvement of student achievement and social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Establishes and fosters positive school/community relationships, and clearly communicates core values.
- Incorporates ethical principles in all decision-making processes, and treats all members of the school community with fairness, equity, dignity and respect.
- Effectively communicates, uses consensus building and conflict resolution techniques, and problem solving skills
- Leads and engages stakeholders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school improvement plan.
- Monitors, evaluates and reports progress in student achievement and school improvement initiatives to stakeholders.
- Establishes and conveys high expectations for himself/herself, all employees, students, and colleagues.
- Positively impacts the performance of building employees through effective mentoring, supervision, and evaluation.
- Guides curriculum delivery and professional development that promotes a focus on student learning consistent with the District vision, mission, and goals.
- Participates in instructional decision‑making, and ensures the differentiation of instructional strategies, materials, and content to engage all students in learning.
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of reports, records, tests, and all other documentation required or appropriate to the school's administration.
- Prepares, submits and implements ethically, accurately, and efficiently the school budget and accounts if required.
- Works with appropriate district personnel in the effective and efficient operation of the school plant, food service, transportation, and accounting functions.
- Manages the implementation of a variety of bargained agreements with and for employees.
- Participates in child study and IEP meetings as appropriate.
- Maintains a safe learning and working environment, and responds to emergencies according to protocol.
- Oversees student co-curricular, interscholastic, intramural, and social activities when necessary.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
$60 per hour

- Ability to organize, prioritize, and assume responsibility.
- Capable of representing the District in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, collegiality, and the ability to obtain and utilize additional training, if necessary.

- Must be able to successfully use, maintain, and manipulate Microsoft Office Professional Software (Excel, Access, Power Point and Word), Internet technology, and Outlook email software

Education and/or ExperienceMaster's of Educational Administration and certification as an Iowa 7-12, or K-12 principal and evaluator approval licensure required. Administrative experience preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, interpret, and implement ideas contained in technical documents, reports, regulations, etc. Ability to effectively write reports and communications to administrators, colleagues, parents, students and staff. Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, staff and students.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical functions. Ability to use spreadsheets and reporting documents that assist with the computation of data.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, colleagues, community members, staff and students. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
