Crossing Guard - Cleveland
Cedar Rapids Community School District, Cleveland Elementary School – Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Responsibilities- Assure the safety of children crossing street intersections at designated crossing areas.
- Must wear city-provided safety vest and carry provided stop sign during all shifts.
- Must complete required training course and pass quiz before beginning employment.
- Willingness to assume responsibility.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoy working with young people.
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
- Regular attendance.
The position frequently requires standing, walking, handling a portable stop sign, talking and hearing. The employee continuously uses hand strength, frequently bends or twists at the neck and trunk more than the average person.
Working EnvironmentThe noise level is moderately loud, including vehicle traffic and residential equipment. The employee will work during varied weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, and may stand or walk on surfaces covered with ice and/or snow.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $13.90 per hour (hourly);
Benefits: Prorated personal illness leave only.
