Test Center Associate
To advance the College's mission, vision, principles, values, and strategic initiatives by delivering the highest quality testing services to students, faculty, and the public.
Kirkwood Test Center supports students, faculty, and the community by delivering accurate, efficient, and secure testing services. We have three locations (in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, and Hiawatha) and we provide training and support for test proctors at other Kirkwood locations.
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Test Center Associate plays a visible, responsible, and versatile front-line role. This position assists in the smooth day-to-day operation of the Test Center by checking test takers in and out, explaining our procedures and the rationales behind them, and working effectively with diverse populations in person, over the phone, and via email. The Test Center Associate administers exams according to written and verbal instructions and industry best practices, monitors the test rooms, enforces rules, uses sound judgment in ambiguous situations, reports academic integrity and conduct concerns, and helps students, faculty, and the public make the fullest use of our services.
This position requires organizational skills and the ability to maintain professionalism and efficiency in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
We are hiring for two openings. For this position, availability to work at either the Cedar Rapids, Main Campus or Coralville, Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa Test Center 3 days per week (Monday and 2 additional days) is required. The morning shift is from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., and the afternoon shift is from 11:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. This position is expected to work an average of 16-20 hours per week during the academic year.
Hours may be adjusted or reduced during summer and when classes are not in session. Infrequent weekends or work at other locations may be required.
