Collins Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer, Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join the Tactical Communications team responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems for real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications. The RTE will report to senior program leadership while remaining within the Systems and Software Engineering functional organization, steering engineering teams on the program, driving continuous improvement in Scaled Agile practices, and ensuring value delivery and program cadence.

- Maintain positive employee and team experiences by creating an environment that supports positive team health and providing guidance and management to ensure goals are met.
- Assess and drive continuous improvement to the agility level of the program.
- Utilize agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.
- Encourage team‑level and program‑level continuous integration and communities of practice around scaling Agile and Lean, and around Engineering and Quality Practices.
- Work with product management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Ensure effective incremental Program Planning execution, including fostering the preparation of Vision and work‑item backlogs.
- Aggregate the Team Program Increment objectives into Program Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency.
- Serve as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
- Collaborate with Product Management, the System Architect, and Business Owners to achieve effective outcomes on the ART.
- Aid in the broader Lean‑Agile transformation by coaching leaders and teams across the organization.
- Help drive resolution for technical issues through problem‑solving and coordination across impacted teams.
- Share lessons learned with the team and department.
- Facilitate capability estimation and economic decision‑making by teams.
- Create retrospective improvement roadmaps by analyzing all activities and actions.
- Measure and track program performance execution and capability completion tracking.
- Escalate and track program impediments.
- Facilitate dependency resolution and support early risk identification and remediation.
- Report status to Program management and release management.
- Help structure program teams for effective execution, including insights on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
- Attend system demonstrations.
- Create a collaborative team culture that drives predictable program performance to consistently meet business and customer commitments.
- Knowledge of Collins Aerospace products and how they enable armed forces to collaborate with domestic and allied partners.
- Direct interaction with customer‑facing programs, gaining insight into the business and strategic initiatives.
- Highly visible leadership experience and exposure within the Tactical Communications, Resilient Connectivity Products, and Mission Systems organizations.
- Expertise in the most advanced navigation equipment in the industry.
- Exposure to key technologies with opportunities to deepen subject‑matter expertise.

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
