We guide products from concept through accreditation to factory production, including design, analysis, test, and certification, and integrate them into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment. This role is located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What you will do:

  • Work across agile teams in the department for dependency and risk management
  • Help to remove blockers from the team and collaborate on problem solving with program leads and subject matter experts
  • Perform system verification and validation, evaluate alternative solutions to issue resolution, and assess impacts to cost and risk for supportability and system impact
  • Collect data and perform standard analysis of data, identifying findings as appropriate
  • Perform analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Consider and evaluate alternative accounting for similar metrics
  • Follow configuration processes, perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and provide input on trade studies
  • Conduct requirement allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

What you will learn:

  • You will gain platform systems level experience on a complex system of systems scale program working with the platform systems engineering team
  • You will gain exposure to multiple key technologies with opportunities to develop subject matter expertise in related areas
  • You will have opportunities to influence and enrich the department culture as we continuously look to improve

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with cryptographic, datalink, networking, and command and control applications
  • Experience with communication systems, navigation systems, and networks
  • Experience with design, analysis, test, and certification, integrating them into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment
