This hands‑on role is a key player in starting up our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility. You’ll commission new equipment and test systems, solve problems on the floor, and over time lead continuous improvement projects that elevate safety, quality, and throughput.
Primary Planning and Start Up Responsibilities
- Commission and validate functional test equipment, PLC controlled stations, and supporting instrumentation as new lines come online; debug issues end to end (electrical, software, fixtures, sensors, I/O).
- Partner with Controls and Test Engineering to install, bring up, and optimize equipment for start up readiness; document changes and results.
- Train operators and technical staff on safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and escalation paths.
Primary Ongoing Production Responsibilities
- Respond on the floor to equipment/test failures; perform root cause analysis, contain issues, and restore operation quickly.
- Execute minor PLC/HMI adjustments under engineering guidance; maintain configurations, backups, and change logs.
- Monitor test station performance, yields, and false fail rates; surface trends and propose countermeasures.
- Implement hardware/software improvements that enhance safety, throughput, test coverage, and reliability (e.g., sensor upgrades, fixture refinements, vision checks).
- Develop and refine PM, calibration, and verification procedures; keep stations audit ready with clear documentation and labeling.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners on line layout, error proofing, and standardized work improvements.
Work Schedule & Environment: Day shift with flexibility during commissioning milestones. Primary work is on the production floor—not behind a desk.

This position requires a pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. A negative drug/alcohol test result is required for employment. Refusal to take the test or a positive result may disqualify a candidate from further consideration. All drug testing will be conducted in accordance with federal and state laws.
Qualifications Education RequiredAssociates or better in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience RequiredHands on, on the floor problem solver with clear communication and teamwork skills.
Solid understanding of test concepts (fixtures, calibration/verification, false fail troubleshooting) and basic data analysis.
Comfort with PLC/HMI troubleshooting and making minor edits under direction (ladder logic / tags, faults, I/O mapping).
Strong controls fundamentals: reading schematics, device wiring, sensors and I/O, VFDs/servos basics, and safe troubleshooting with a meter/scope.
2+ years in a manufacturing environment supporting automated equipment or functional test systems.
PreferredExposure to PFMEA/test coverage thinking and structured problem solving (8D, A3).
Proven commissioning/startup experience bringing new stations or lines into production.
Experience with one or more of:
Rockwell/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA, Ignition/MES dashboards, NI/LabVIEW, Python for test utilities, Vision systems.
