As a Power Distribution Engineer, you'll guide electric utility distribution design efforts, support Project Managers, and lead a growing team of consultants and design professionals. • Drive electric utility distribution design efforts while partnering closely with Project Managers.
• Manage and coordinate external consultants supporting Distribution Design projects.
• Prepare and oversee proposals, schedules, and budget estimates for client initiatives.
• Assign, schedule, and review work to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
• Lead and grow the Distribution Design group—including hiring, mentoring, marketing services, and delivering exceptional client service.
• Support business development, fostering relationships with clients and strategic partners.
• Maintain accurate records, QA/QC documentation, and performance metrics across all projects.
• Represent the company through committee participation, industry groups, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Travel as needed to support project execution.
• Administer organizational policies, training, safety standards, salary reviews, and performance evaluations.
• Approve timesheets, expenses, and achieve weekly billable targets.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Power Delivery preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in power distribution, utility design, or related engineering fields.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and interface with clients, agencies, and the public.
• Detail‑oriented approach to quality, documentation, and project tracking.

• You’ll shape the technical direction and culture of a growing Distribution Design group.
• High visibility with clients and leadership, impacting both project success and service delivery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

The pay range for this position is $ - $/hr.
