Job Description General Overview
The Geophysical Field Operations position will support our Geophysical Department by conducting non‑invasive geophysical surveys using a range of advanced technologies. This position primarily focuses on operating and maintaining our Multi‑Channel Ground Penetrating Radar (MCGPR) system
, which is deployed nationwide for various projects. This role involves extensive travel
, hands‑on fieldwork, and exposure to a diverse array of engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate is adaptable, self‑motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to all company and project-specific safety rules, protocols, and standards
. Participate in pre‑task planning and promptly report any safety concerns. - Maintain high quality standards on all assigned work.
- Perform geophysical surveys and assist with geophysical data collection as part of a developing‑level Geophysicist role.
- Conduct site visits
, field observations, and field data acquisition tasks. - Support data collection and testing activities to assist in project evaluation, planning, and permitting.
- Outline and apply appropriate investigative techniques and methodologies for site studies within the field of expertise.
- Interact with clients when necessary regarding project‑specific tasks.
- High school diploma required;
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
, or equivalent 3+ years of relevant experience
. - Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
. - Willingness and ability to travel frequently
, sometimes for extended periods. - Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Professional certification in a relevant geophysical or engineering field
