What YOU will do:(Responsibilities)
- You will support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations.
- You will ensure proposed system changes are reviewed and implemented system modifications do not adversely affect the security of the system.
- You will implement security improvements by assessing the current situation; evaluating trends; and anticipating requirements.
- You will support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
- You will perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.
- You will have hands-on technical duties and will provide on-site security engineering, systems administration, and information assurance support to the program.
- You will work with Software Engineer and/or System Engineer team to implement cybersecurity policies, harden the system and document findings.
- YOU will learn to be a more effective Systems Security Engineer and leader by gaining niche skills enabling you to be unique in all you do.
- YOU will take flight to becoming a subject matter expert and leader in cybersecurity within VLF technologies with exposure to the variety of businesses and products in ever evolving field. We are growing, so can you!
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret after start.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearances.
- Knowledge in Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
- Utilize vulnerability scanning tools to include Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker/Tools
- Familiar with Linux Commands
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance.
- DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
- Previous experience with Program Protection Plans (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39
- Experience with implementing highly technical solutions and reporting their importance to program managers and stakeholders
