This position is for a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer who will join the Manufacturing support team at the Collins Aerospace Cedar Rapids facility. The position will support manufacturing test and other manufacturing aspects on second shift for the Displays and Flight Systems IPT. The working hours are from 2PM-10PM, but could be flexible. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process and supplier issues.

Successful candidates have familiarity with LEAN principles and processes.

What You Will Do
  • Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex products.
  • Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failures.
  • Extensive use and application of standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Develop solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with little guidance from project managers.
  • Implement and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top level product for new or difficult product lines.
  • Provide in-depth technical assistance and training support to floor test technicians.
  • Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all test documents. Resolve conflicts in documentation and process definition.
  • Develop complete knowledge of test systems and hardware.
  • Recommend and/or lead producibility projects to reduce support costs.
  • Analyze test data using statistical process control analysis skills to proactively reduce test flow inhibitors.
  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction opportunities.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Manufacturing or Troubleshooting or Test experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with Lean Sigma principles.
  • Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Salary Range: 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.
