EPI Power is hiring a Procurement Engineer. The Procurement Engineer is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of materials for the Cedar Rapids, IA project site. This role orders materials and services, monitors delivery status, and facilitates communication between the project team and suppliers.
This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, Monday - Saturday (58 hours per week).
What You’ll Do- Initiate and manage purchase orders, evaluate project schedule, and align delivery of materials accordingly
- Participate in the specification review, bid preparation, submittal review, and quote solicitation process to include developing supplier work statements, soliciting proposals, and negotiating costs
- Collaborate with logistics team members to ensure timely arrival of materials
- Track incorrect or late orders and expedite as needed
- Resolve payment and/or material discrepancies; track and obtain refund if necessary
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract obligations are met; identify new suppliers as needed
- Issue and maintain department reports
- Assist with material inspection, factory testing, and coordination of meetings
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working in a purchasing function
- Skills:
- Understanding of material work planning and engineering methods in conjunction with purchasing requirements
- High level of initiative and excellent judgement
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in a collaborative, supportive, team environment
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Technology:
- Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
