Collins Aerospace is looking for a Software Engineer II with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry‑leading Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) products. Our team needs engineers interested in architecting, designing, and developing software for real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications.
This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in‑depth knowledge of Assured PNT systems architecture, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our navigation products for the warfighter.

Our navigation solutions provide enhanced situational awareness and pinpoint accuracy for airborne and surface missions worldwide, allowing users of our equipment to complete their mission and return home safely.
What You Will Do:- Spanning all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation.
- Tasks may include developing software tools, supporting field demonstration efforts, providing customer support, and mentoring other engineers.
- Expected to be knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of development and test tools as well as proficient in the development of embedded hardware/software applications.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
- High motivation to solve problems and continuously improve existing products.

- Solid understanding of software development processes for real‑time embedded hardware/software applications.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
- A genuine desire to learn and innovate.
- Software requirements and architectural skills with functional decomposition.
- Strong writing skills necessary to produce documentation required for security certification evaluation.
- Experience with embedded hardware and real‑time hardware systems.
- Experience with Eclipse, Jira, and Jama.
- Experience with C, C++, Ada or other high‑order languages in an embedded application environment and experience with hardware‑centric products.
