What You Will Do- Constructs, calibrates, adjusts, tests, maintains and troubleshoots electronic equipment, components, devices and systems working from schematics, engineering drawings and/or written/verbal instructions.
- Sets up and operates standard or special test equipment.
- Utilizes predetermined methods, sequences and setups to inspect or test electronic equipment or products, recommends necessary modifications and adjustments to engineers.
- Analyzes, interprets and records test data for engineering prototype and/or first article electronic/mechanical equipment.
- Prepares reports, charts, graphs and schematics on developmental engineering equipment.
- Documents all electronic testing procedures and results.
- Assists engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability.
- May utilize various programming languages for product development or equipment control.
- Interfaces with engineering-related departments regarding program implementation which requires significant interpretation and discussion.
- Performs electronics technician tasks under general supervision, following standard procedures where judgment or choice is allowed within limits; instruction is provided for new procedures or special assignments.
- Operates in accordance with Corporate, Operations, and Division policies, procedures and practices and in compliance with accepted business ethics.
- Candidate must be self‑driven, customer‑focused and willing to take responsibility.
- Must be able to work effectively with others as a team member.
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Verification/Inspection experience with associated standards, processes, and documentation.
- Debugging and testing power supply circuits at the component level and knowledge in the use of applicable test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power sources.
- Experience building and inspecting test assemblies, fixtures, and cables.
- Completed Collins training for build and inspection processes.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
- Knowledge of soldering materials, fluxes, and equipment, with the ability to operate and maintain soldering tools effectively.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional team environment.
