Sr. Principal Layout Designer

Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center is seeking a Senior Principal Layout Designer responsible for the layout of Analog integrated circuits, utilizing commercial/standard bulk SOI and CMOS technologies in accordance with design rules.

• Work closely with design engineers in the layout and verification of filters for wireless consumer electronic products using the Cadence Design environment and Calibre verification tools.
• Position requires remote interfacing with domestic and international design engineering and layout teams across multiple design centers in different time zones.
• Position requires mentoring junior staff.
• Position requires project schedule management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits including the ability to place and route active and passive devices.
• Ability to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design.
• Good understanding of semiconductor processes and structures, like CMOS FETs, capacitors, resistors, etc.
• Provide good experience and competency using Cadence Virtuoso and Skill
  
  CAD tools.
• Proven ability to interpret DRC, ERC, LVS, ANTENNA using the Calibre verification tool and to read electrical schematics and netlists.
• Top level integration experience is also preferred.
• Previous experience in the preparation of layout data for release to foundry is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $114,400 - $220,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
