Job Title
Principal, Electrical Component Engineer – Supply Chain Engineering Team
LocationCedar Rapids, IA (alternatively Richardson, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Windsor Locks, CT)

Security ClearanceU.S. citizenship required. Must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance after day one. Top‑Secret clearance possible.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support to Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Procurement, Obsolescence, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support lifecycle management of components from new product introduction (NPI) through obsolescence.
- Consult on part selection, qualification, and technology road‑mapping.
- Perform failure and root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage part shortages, obsolescence, and supply‑chain issues.
- Analyze component BOMs for technology, life‑cycle, and supply health.
- Lead project initiatives and provide subject‑matter expertise.
- Travel up to 10% as required.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent advanced degree.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with ≥5 years).
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor component data sheets.
- Experience with component obsolescence management.
- Knowledge of electrical principles and electronic components.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Customer‑service orientation with ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must hold or be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance;
Top‑Secret clearance desired.
- Active Secret DoD clearance with ability to obtain Top‑Secret.
- Experience with procurement, bidding, and negotiation.
- Experience in manufacturing‑related issues.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication confidence.
