Senior Principal Systems Engineer - A2G; Onsite

The Computing Solutions Department is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to develop next‑generation product line solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA. The team focuses on creating, certifying, and sustaining solutions for safety‑critical avionics products. Candidates should have a proven record in specifying, designing, verifying, and testing highly integrated computing and graphics systems.

• Capture requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures in alignment with program development plans and ARP‑4754B objectives.
• Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the laboratory.
• Collaborate across systems, hardware, AEH, and software design functions.
• Assist in resolving cross‑domain technical problems between hardware and software.
• Travel 5‑10% as needed.

• Degree in STEM or an advanced related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an advanced degree).
• Experience with safety‑critical systems, hardware, or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, ARP‑4754A/B).
• Experience authoring and validating requirements.

• Experience with avionics equipment certification processes.
• Experience generating concepts of operations and use cases with stakeholders.
• Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
• Experience testing embedded hardware and software.
• Experience developing automated tests using scripting.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability to change.
