Systems Engineer
The Computing Solutions Department is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to develop next‑generation product line solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA. The team focuses on creating, certifying, and sustaining solutions for safety‑critical avionics products. Candidates should have a proven record in specifying, designing, verifying, and testing highly integrated computing and graphics systems.
Responsibilities- Capture requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures in alignment with program development plans and ARP‑4754B objectives.
- Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the laboratory.
- Collaborate across systems, hardware, AEH, and software design functions.
- Assist in resolving cross‑domain technical problems between hardware and software.
- Travel 5‑10% as needed.
- Degree in STEM or an advanced related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an advanced degree).
- Experience with safety‑critical systems, hardware, or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, ARP‑4754A/B).
- Experience authoring and validating requirements.
- Experience with avionics equipment certification processes.
- Experience generating concepts of operations and use cases with stakeholders.
- Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
- Experience testing embedded hardware and software.
- Experience developing automated tests using scripting.
- Excellent communication skills and adaptability to change.
