Position Overview
Position:
Systems Engineer in the Mission Systems Secure Systems Department at Collins Aerospace (an RTX company).
Location:
Cedar Rapids, IA, United States.
Role Type:
Onsite. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance immediately after day
1.
- Perform analysis, architecture, and design at all system levels from concept through disposal.
- Conduct functional analyses, trade studies, requirement allocations, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Provide decompositions of customer specifications into subsystem and component requirements and develop verification criteria and plans.
- Plan technical activities, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.
- Carry out daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment.
- Typical requirement: STEM degree with at least 5years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3years of experience.
- Must obtain and maintain an active U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret). U.S. citizenship is required.
- Familiarity with the Scaled Agile framework.
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership.
- Experience with cryptographic hardware architecture/design, network encryption specifications, and test methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, or similar.
- Programming knowledge in Rust and Python.
- Experience with model‑based systems engineering, hardware/software integration, validation & verification testing, and qualification testing.

Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200 USD.
