We are seeking a Datalinks Systems Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work with engineers to collaborate on projects related to small form factor and space datalink communication systems for the Department of Defense. As a systems engineer, you will help to standardize hardware and software for datalink systems (comm, sensor, or other mission data) such that new and emerging capabilities can be rapidly developed, fielded, and integrated.
WhatYou Will Do
- Learn generation and decomposition of requirements for design and development teams
- Participate in the integration and test of new and emerging hardware and software
- Collaborate across many engineering disciplines to execute program milestones
- Work on bid and proposal support for new business pursuits
- Travel 1–4 times per year
- Experience in hardware troubleshooting
- Experience in the integration of hardware, software, and firmware as a system
- Experience in developing, revising, and optimizing test and acceptance procedures
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Familiarity with Python, Mat Lab, and / or C
- High level understanding of communication theory, networking, and / or digital processing
