Engineering Lab Technician
Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is looking for an Engineering Lab Technician to partner with engineering teams and provide technical expertise and innovative solutions. This entry‑level role supports various engineering functions including research, design, development, testing, manufacturing, and process improvement for military and government systems.
Responsibilities- Performs a variety of technical tasks using an entry‑level understanding of all technical objectives.
- Provides support to research, design, development, test, manufacturing, or process improvement areas with recent technology.
- Utilizes routine test or diagnostic equipment and learns software tools.
- Participates in developing new approaches and techniques for continuous improvement.
- Documents job‑specific activities such as electronic design, modifications, data collection, calibration, and Design of Experiment data.
- Uses schematics, procedures, engineering drawings, and follows written and verbal instructions, including test procedures.
- Operates in accordance with corporate, operational and division policies, procedures, and practices, including environmental, safety, and health procedures.
- HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience reading basic electronic schematics and building per drawings.
- Experience with routine test or diagnostic equipment.
- Soldering – surface mount and through hole.
- Cable assembly – crimping.
- Mechanical ability to understand how things fit together.
