Job OverviewHighly experienced Electrical or Computer Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, verification, and integration of high-performance ASICs, FPGAs, and SoPCs for Collins Avionics solutions. The role supports legacy and next-generation Displays, Computing, and Networking Products using best‑practice design and verification methodologies.
Responsibilities- Capture, decompose, and trace requirements.
- Develop RTL code and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog.
- Create and execute hardware test cases, procedures, and integration tests.
- Define verification strategies, including on‑hardware environments, test frameworks, and test tools.
- Perform ASIC/FPGA/SoPC verification using inspection, analysis, simulation, and test methods.
- Produce DO‑254 DAL‑A certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH).
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support FAA SOI audits.
- Develop engineering bids and support RFIs and RFPs.
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers.
- May perform duties of a project engineer.
- Recommend new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the ASIC/FPGA design flow.
- Provide guidance or mentor other engineers.
- Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience writing RTL and test benches in VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog.
- Experience with Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl.
- Experience with FPGA tools (e.g., Questasim, Vivado, Libero, Synplify Pro).
- Experience with data interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, CDN, ARINC‑429.
- Independent work style within a globally distributed, matrixed engineering team.
- Experience with DO‑254 processes and design assurance activities for ASIC, FPGA, and/or SoPC development.
- Familiarity with advanced chip‑level verification techniques and languages (e.g., constrained random, functional coverage, code coverage, LEC, System Verilog).
- Successful management of cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Basic risk‑management skills (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks).

USD (inclusive of annual incentive plans and bonus opportunities). Compensation reflects experience, education, and skills.
