The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers in developing complex engineering solutions for the Avionics strategic business unit and external customers.
What You Will Do- Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement.
- Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed‑to commitments.
- Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path.
- Utilize Earned Value methods for managing project budget and schedule.
- Ensure project meets quality expectations.
- Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership.
- Prepare well‑crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams.
- Develop engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gain organizational buy‑in.
- University degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Experience leading projects.
- Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
- Organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects.
- Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skills.
