Job SummaryProcess Engineer responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, cost and sustainability. The role focuses on identifying and implementing process improvements and leading capital projects from concept to startup.
Responsibilities- Execute projects up to $10M, including establishing budgets, schedules, supervising construction, training personnel, overseeing startup, and coordinating with QC/QA, safety, health and environmental and maintenance.
- Provide technical support to the plant safety professional on facility safety initiatives when designing or redesigning work processes to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Troubleshoot, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement action plans and follow‑up to ensure effective results.
- Provide engineering studies, designs, and justifications for approval to support operations goals.
- Maintain historical data, analyze and monitor key efficiencies and parameters against design to assist operations with troubleshooting and meeting cost and production goals.
- Evaluate, seek approval, and execute improvements to plant safety, reliability, capacity, operating costs, maintenance, and product quality.
- Keep current in discipline, assess new technologies and ideas, develop, evaluate, and seek approval for new concepts to improve efficiency and capability of the process, facility life, and product quality.
- Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date when projects are complete.
- Assist operations in continuous training to maintain operator proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering‑related discipline or equivalent technical experience.
- Preferred:
Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering degrees. - Process improvement experience in manufacturing operations environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot process and equipment, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement action plans with follow‑up.
- Ability to implement capital projects, permits, and perform engineering functions in manufacturing.
- Knowledge and expertise of corn wet milling process and related systems and fundamentals preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information and prepare concise written reports.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, build consensus, foster relationships across organization levels and functions.
- Self‑directed with high initiative, sound judgment, resourcefulness, and innovation in handling complex technical assignments with minimal supervision.
