Job Summary
As a Designer Team Manager you develop and lead technical teams to drive innovation and operational excellence. You manage competencies, foster collaboration, and ensure the efficient execution of technical strategies. You oversee resources, processes, and methodologies to enhance delivery and promote continuous improvement. You serve as the technical single point of contact for design or program teams throughout the product lifecycle.
You stay ahead of emerging technologies, facilitate knowledge sharing, and align technical initiatives with business needs while supporting long‑term growth.
- Support LoB (MCB, MCCB, ACB, SPDs and LoMa offers) and Global Supply Change Manufacturing Plants in North America (production line support).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on‑time and quality delivery.
- Allocate resources effectively and balance workloads across the team.
- Supervised the creation, modifications and validation of bills of materials and CAD drawings of parts and sub‑assemblies in accordance with technical specifications, customer expectations and supply chain constraints.
- Supervise/execute assigned product design changes – drawings and BOMs (bill of materials) according to technical specifications using dedicated tools (software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system).
- Support new product development projects, product evolution projects, QVEs, continuous engineering and TEX.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordinate project scheduling and planning for the designers’ team.
- Supervise and design offers technical specifications to meet customer values expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chain constraints.
- Establish design processes, workflows, and best practices within the team scope.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, scrum masters, product owners, OQLs, Methods engineers and Industrialization.
- Participate in the creation and of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (xFMEA) documents to reflect product design changes.
- Provide mentoring, instructions/assistance to other Designers and entry level engineers or functions.
- BS or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products.
- Must have +10 years of relevant experience in electromechanical design.
- AGILE Methodology knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Expert in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Advance experience in 3D CAD Modeling (Creo).
- Intermediate experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI).
- Product design experience is highly recommended (LVE, MCCB and ACB).
- Knowledge of CAE (Ex, Structural, Thermal, Kinematics, etc) is a plus.
- Knowledge of first principles of Physics and Engineering Practice.
- Advance knowledge with metal stamping, thermoset and thermoplastic molding processes.
- Advance knowledge with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques.
- Travel required ~15% – to NAM GSC Manufacturing Plants (USA and Mexico).
- Knowledge of prototyping and testing methods.
- Teamwork and team leader abilities.
- Interpersonal skills (ability to interact with other functions, North America and overseas).
- Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, manufacturing operations and others).
- Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation.
- Motivated self‑starter, able to work in parallel on multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Coaching and mentoring. Basic project execution experience.
- Time and priority management.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or related field.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year.
