Overview
Computing Solutions Department is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to develop next generation product line solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on designing, verifying, and sustaining highly integrated computing and graphics systems for safety‑critical avionics products.
Responsibilities- Capture requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures in accordance with program development plans and ARP‑4754B objectives.
- Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the lab.
- Collaborate across systems, hardware, AEH and software design functions.
- Assist in resolving technical problems that cross hardware and software functional domains.
- Travel 5‑10% as needed.
You Must Have: Typical STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience or advanced degree and minimum 7 years. Experience with safety‑critical systems (DO‑178C, DO‑254, ARP‑4754A/B), authoring and validating requirements.
We Prefer: Avionics equipment certification process experience; stakeholder collaboration to generate concepts of operations and use cases; drafting in‑depth technical documents; embedded hardware/software testing; automated test development; strong communication skills; adaptability, self‑motivation, and teamwork.
