Principal Systems Engineer – Computing Solutions Department – Cedar Rapids, IA

- Capture requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures in accordance with program development plans and the objectives of ARP‑4754B.
- Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the lab.
- Collaborate across systems, hardware, AEH, and software design functions.
- Assist in resolving technical problems that cross hardware and software functional domain areas.
- Travel 5‑10% as needed.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience with safety‑critical system, hardware, or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, or ARP‑4754A/B).
- Experience authoring and validating requirements.
- Experience with the avionics equipment certification process.
- Experience working with stakeholders to generate concepts of operations and use cases.
- Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
- Experience working with and testing embedded hardware and software.
- Experience developing automated tests utilizing scripting.
- Excellent communication skills for both internal and external customers.
- Adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborating with teammates to make the best decisions, enjoying learning new technologies, being self‑motivated and contributing to a positive work environment.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
