Principal Systems Engineer – Computing Solutions Department – Cedar Rapids, IA

• Capture requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures in accordance with program development plans and the objectives of ARP‑4754B.
• Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the lab.
• Collaborate across systems, hardware, AEH, and software design functions.
• Assist in resolving technical problems that cross hardware and software functional domain areas.
• Travel 5‑10% as needed.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience with safety‑critical system, hardware, or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, or ARP‑4754A/B).
• Experience authoring and validating requirements.
• Experience with the avionics equipment certification process.
• Experience working with stakeholders to generate concepts of operations and use cases.
• Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
• Experience working with and testing embedded hardware and software.
• Experience developing automated tests utilizing scripting.
• Excellent communication skills for both internal and external customers.
• Adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborating with teammates to make the best decisions, enjoying learning new technologies, being self‑motivated and contributing to a positive work environment.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
