PositionSummary
This position reports to the Office Manager and often works with a Project Manager on specific projects. A Professional Engineering license is mandatory. The Department Head mentors and oversees all Electrical Design Staff within the Office/Division, provides oversight and design for Building Power, Lighting, Data/Telecommunications, Fire Alarm, and other Special Systems. The role includes scheduling, project assignment, cross‑training staff, running lighting calculations, sizing switch gear and circuiting, writing specifications, and serving as the WPE contact with clients and stakeholders on multiple projects.
ResponsibilitiesThe Department Head will:
- Lead and mentor project technical staff at all levels.
- Develop project plans, manage schedules and budgets.
- Prepare and review electrical designs, calculations, and specifications.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in electrical building systems
