Position: Principal Systems Engineer - SOA Platforms (Onsite)

Position Summary

As a Platform Systems Engineer in the Military Avionics group, you will develop and test avionics for Special Operations Aviation (SOA) helicopter programs.

What You Will Do
  • Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for SOA helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts, decisions, test procedures, and laboratory testing.
  • Use tools such as DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft Office, SVN, and others.
  • Complete work for cockpit avionics solutions across SOA programs.
  • Navigate bids and pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes for the SOA programs.
  • Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects.
  • Design system solutions and ensure integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs.
  • Provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team and the department.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in a Systems Engineering role.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance.
  • Experience with Collins Aerospace’s Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS).
  • Experience with DARs and bids & pursuits.
  • Proficiency in TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA, and/or Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range

$107,500–$204,500 USD annually. (A good‑faith estimate across all experience levels.)
