Overview
Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments that contribute to protecting our nation and our products. We are seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer - Cybersecurity to function as a key contributor for the Strategic Solutions Security Engineering team. This role will be worked onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. Relocation assistance is available. Requires an active and transferable SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance after start.

- Implement security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; developing security architecture and requirements, and design architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
- Perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.
- Conduct cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture of the system.
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.
- Perform bid and proposal efforts.
- Develop into a more effective Systems Security Engineer and leader by gaining niche skills enabling you to be unique in all you do.
- Gain knowledge of technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) in cybersecurity with exposure to a variety of businesses and products in an evolving field.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearances.
- Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
- Embedded systems security (real-time embedded systems architecture).
- Experience in Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal IA certification and accreditation processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated documentation and experience with NIST 800-53 RMF, as described in NIST SP 800-37.
- Experience with security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software operating systems and applications in both stand-alone and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance.
- DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level II or Level III Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
- Experience with NSA Type 1 certification process.
- Experience with Program Protection Plan (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39.
- Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter expert.
- Experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership.
- Experience with cryptographic hardware architecture/design, network encryption specifications and test methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO or similar; programming languages such as Rust and Python.
- Experience with Hardware and Software Integration, Validation & Verification Testing, and Qualification Testing.
