Principal Systems Engineer - SOA Platforms; Onsite

About the Role

We are searching for a Platform Systems Engineer to join our Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group at Collins Aerospace. In this role you will develop and test avionics for Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs, enhancing the capabilities of military helicopter platforms.

• Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for the SOA helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts, design decisions, test procedures, and system testing.
• Use tools such as DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft Office, SVN and others to deliver solutions across cockpit avionics for the Special Operations Aviation programs.
• Navigate bids and pursuits, adhering to Collins processes for the SOA programs.
• Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects to design system solutions.
• Ensure integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs, working with other military helicopter programs.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team and the broader department.
• Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.

• Required: A STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience with in a Systems Engineering role.

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance.
• Experience with Collins Aerospace’s Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS).
• Experience with DARs, bids & pursuits.
• Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA, and/or Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD, based on experience and qualifications.
