Rotary Wing Platform Systems Engineer
Are you ready to shape the future of aerospace with cutting-edge technology? Join our Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group at Collins Aerospace. Here, you will play a crucial role in developing and testing avionics for Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs. This dynamic position offers flexibility to push the boundaries of technology, enhancing the capabilities of military helicopter platforms.
This role requires a highly motivated person to help lead the charge for this exciting team.
What You Will Do:
- Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for the SOA helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts and decisions, execution of test procedures, testing the systems out in the lab, etc. Tools used are DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others.
- Complete work for avionics solutions across the cockpit avionics for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
- Navigate through the bids & pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes for the SOA programs.
- Lead customer discussions alongside the program chiefs & architects.
- Design system solutions, ensuring the integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs working with other military helicopter programs.
- Provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team and others in the department.
- Up to 10% of travel as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with in a Systems Engineering role.
- Ability to be onsite in Cedar Rapids for test events and test environment updates.
