MCCB Continuous Engineer
Schneider Electric is seeking a highly motivated MCCB Continuous Engineer to support and enhance the North American Power
PacT™ Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) product portfolio based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, you will drive product improvements, support manufacturing and quality initiatives, validate design changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and supply chain teams while contributing to the development and continuous improvement of industry-leading power distribution products.
What Will You Do?
- Own and maintain the North American Power
PacT™ Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) product portfolio. - Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans to ensure product compliance and performance.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Fishbone Diagrams to investigate and resolve product and manufacturing issues.
- Lead and support the validation of FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) and Pilot Run reviews.
- Support North American Global Supply Chain manufacturing facilities through technical guidance and product compliance activities.
- Conduct manufacturing audits to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including UL, IEC, ANSI, CSA, NOM, and CCC.
- Create, modify, and validate engineering documentation, including:
Bills of Materials (BOMs) CAD models and drawings Parts and sub-assemblies. - Execute engineering design changes using Creo Parametric and other 3D CAD tools.
- Perform engineering analyses, including:
Thermal analysis Electromagnetic analysis Structural analysis Dynamic/mechanical analysis. - Support laboratory testing, product validation, data analysis, and technical reporting.
- Investigate internal and external product returns and drive corrective actions.
- Lead circuit breaker engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, and technical reviews.
- Support production-line engineering qualification activities.
- Interpret test data and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations to engineering, product management, and leadership teams.
- Develop and maintain Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/xFMEA) documentation.
- Identify and implement Quality, Value, and Engineering (QVE) improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 3-6 years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or electromechanical product development.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing creation.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with product testing and evaluation methods associated with industry standards such as UL, CSA, NOM, IEC, CCC, and ANSI.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, including:
Metal stamping Thermoplastic molding Thermoset molding. - Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within North America, including manufacturing facilities in the United States and Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience with Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) or Air Circuit Breakers (ACB).
