Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is a 6+ month engagement requiring expertise in systems design, verification, and cross-functional collaboration on technical programs.

• Create and maintain system requirements and design documents
• Support verification and traceability of system requirements
• Develop verification test procedures and execute procedures in a secure lab environment
• Conduct peer reviews on test procedures and design documentation
• Collaborate across teams to advance program goals
• Coordinate communication and status updates with relevant stakeholders
• Own the development of design approaches through collaboration with subject matter experts
• Drive resolution of technical issues through problem-solving and cross-team coordination
• Share lessons learned with the team and department to improve approaches and processes
• Contribute to bid and proposal activities during new business pursuits

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), plus minimum 5 years of relevant prior experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field plus minimum 3 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
• Preferred
  • Python scripting experience
  • Automated test and test fixture development
  • Testing frameworks (Gherkin, Behave, Robot, or similar)
  • Networking, protocols, and security knowledge (IP stack, NTP/PTP, SSL/TLS)
  • Prior military experience
  • Experience developing system concept of operations (CONOPS) and use cases
  • Experience with system integration and test
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
