Job Description Summary
Performs accounting, financial reporting and analysis functions within the External Reporting group in preparation and filing of financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Responsible for applying financial analysis knowledge and judgment to activities that are diverse and complex to support the integrity and accuracy of SEC filings.
Responsibilities- Extract financial data from various accounting and information systems in the preparation, review, and filing of periodic SEC filings, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K and other required filings.
- Analyze financial data and define relevant information in the preparation of financial statements to ensure consistency and accuracy across financial statement disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Perform comprehensive financial tie‑outs across all external reporting materials, ensuring accuracy in footing and cross‑footing.
- Maintain and enhance eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging in the financial statements.
- Maintain and enhance document structures in Workiva related to document changes, proposing efficiencies and improvements.
- Support interactions with external auditors to address audit inquiries and provide proper documentation to support disclosures and amounts included in SEC filings.
- Participate in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Perform and document necessary controls and procedures to support and ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Recommend changes to processes to improve efficiencies.
- Work effectively with other departments/divisions to resolve business issues for the success of the company.
- Demonstrate leadership, effective judgment, and independence in decision‑making; mentor employees across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with the degree.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Solid knowledge and experience with SEC reporting and regulations, U.S. GAAP, and XBRL.
- Experience working with and editing Workiva.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively, manage multiple projects, and work independently or in a team.
- Organizational, prioritization, and effective judgment skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- 1 year supervisory experience.
- Experience in mentoring and developing staff.
- Hybrid (In Office: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays).
- Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven office environment.
- Occasional travel
