Job Description Summary

Internships are short-term work experiences for a designated period of time that allow college students the opportunity to observe and participate in the professional work environment, to explore how his/her interests relate to possible careers, and to gain practical experience in an industry relating to their field of study.

This spring opportunity is 14 weeks long from late-January to late-April. It is full-time hours during normal business hours, Monday - Friday. Students usually take a semester off for a commitment like this.

In this accounting/finance internship, you will have the opportunity to work alongside

Transamerica team members on business-required/necessary projects. This position allows you to take your classroom knowledge and apply it. Ifyou’reself-driven and able to see opportunity inchange, you can make adifferencewithin our business. You will report to a manager and build relationships with key leaders and team members in all areas of finance.

Responsibilities
  • Uses multiple financial tools to produce a variety of analyses.
  • Proactivelyidentifiesunique problems and seeks help to resolve them, if necessary.
  • Responsible for adherence to the company’s framework of internal controls.
  • Conducts businessprocessand data analysis to alignhigh-level requirements to business initiatives.
  • Prepares “as is” and “current state” documentation in written and graphical form (flows).
  • Facilitates the elicitation of business and systems requirements.
  • Develop new or revised processes or procedures in lieu of system development.
  • Analyze business unit requests anddocumentbusiness requirements, work with various technical staff members todeterminepossible solution sand communicate business and systemimpactsmanagement.
