Financial Analyst, Credit Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst
The CPM partners with commercial managers and loan officers to proactively manage and service lending relationships within an assigned commercial banking loan portfolio. Primary responsibility is to manage the credit production process including but not limited to: request appropriate documents to conduct spreading and complete analysis on financial statements, identify and address industry and/or market risks, ensure collateral requirements are met, loan structuring and pricing are accurate, monitor credit performance and present findings on new loan requests, renewals, annual reviews and make recommendations regarding credit opportunities.
The goal is to ensure Credit Presentations are timely and accurately prepared, and that credit policy exceptions are noted and tracked.
The CPM role has a customer-facing component with the CPM interacting with customers independently to address non-routine client servicing matters in addition to risk related items. This includes proactively communicating with customers and their accountants for timely receipt of financial statements and other information. The CPM also provides routine customer service, participates in independent and joint sales calls with commercial managers and loan officers and helps identify customer/prospect needs.
Accountabilitiesand Responsibilities:
Accountability 1:
70% Financial analysis and production of Credit Presentations for new credit requests, renewals, and annual reviews.
- Within 48 hours for new credit requests (prospect or existing customer)
- One week prior to maturity for renewals
- By the tickler review date for annual reviews
20% Customer level tracking and portfolio monitoring.
10% Manages other tasks to provide backup and support bank wide portfolio management, including, but not limited to, real estate evaluations, appraisal reviews, various loan portfolio board reports, and loan committee agenda and minutes preparation.
SecondaryDuties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for following bank policies and procedures for compliance relative to the function of the position. Employee will also be responsible for completing applicable annual compliance training as required by compliance laws, regulations and bank policy.
- Comprehend and comply with all pertinent Bank Secrecy Act/OFAC/CIP policies and procedures. Complete annual training.
- Perform other tasks requested by management.
- Uphold confidentiality and privacy of all information and findings in all situations.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, ag-finance, accounting, related field and three or more years' experience with commercial banking credit analysis, lending policies and procedures, loan policy and regulatory requirements, and FSA and SBA loan programs. Analyst experience in related financial services industry will also be considered or combination or education and experience may meet qualification.
Strong analytical skills with good knowledge of computer word processing (Word) and spreadsheet programs (Excel). Specific experience with financial statement spreading software preferred.
