Rehabilitation Therapy Technician - Witwer SW

Overview

Support patients on their rehabilitation journey as a Therapy Technician working alongside physical, occupational, and speech therapists. In this role, you willassistwith patient preparation, mobility, and basic therapy activities under clinical supervision while helpingmaintaina safe, organized, and efficient treatment environment.

You’llalso manage supplies, supportschedulingand clerical tasks, and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, staying active, and contributing to high-quality patient care.

• Support therapists and patients by preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and ensuring all therapy spaces are clean, safe, and well stocked.
• Clean and sanitize therapy equipment, change linens between patients, andmaintainorganized supply and equipment storage.
• Assist with direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision, including mobility training, strengthening, and range-of-motion exercises, while helping ensure a positive and safe care environment.
• Contribute to smooth department operations by ordering and organizing supplies,assisting with scheduling and clerical tasks, andmaintainingrequired logs and documentation.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, departmental and hospital meetings, and support program activities such as home exercise preparation and material development.
• Mayassistwithadditionalduties including mentoring volunteers, supporting audits, and other assigned tasks that enhance patient care and operational excellence.

Education:

• None.

Experience:

• Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting serving people preferred.
• One (1) year of therapy aide experience, some experience as a therapyaideor volunteer, or current enrollment in a 2 or 4 year physical, occupational, or speech therapy program, or a pre-therapy curriculum preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Basic Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association required.
• IL & IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training in state(s) where providing carerequiredwithin
  60 daysof hire.
• IL & IA Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing carerequiredwithin
  60 daysof hire.
